Why I Write | Elaine Crepps
Posted by Anjuelle Floyd | Filed under ... anjuellefloyd ..., Why Do I Write ...
Writing for me is a catharsis.
It is a means to channel the pent-up anger, frustration, humiliation and shame, which I have endured for 19 years.
The book which I am writing, “This Far by Faith: Racism, Misogyny, Police Brutality, Corruption and the Mafia,†is a testament to the strength of women everywhere who are determined not to allow themselves to be defeated or destroyed by a male dominated society.
I write because I want my voice to be heard!
I write for those women who want their stories to be told, but who have neither the means nor the opportunity to speak for themselves. I write to instill within other women the courage to keep fighting to realize their goals and dreams regardless of the obstacles or setbacks they encounter along the way.

Why I Write & What Is My Process | by Shannon Vettes
Posted by Anjuelle Floyd | Filed under ... anjuellefloyd ..., Why Do I Write ...
I actually never wanted to be a blogger.
I wanted to be a “real†writer.
You know, fiction, essays, articles.
Things that sounded “professional†to me last year.
So, I slaved over drafts of my novel and hit the forums to get some feedback because I didn’t have the slightest clue of what I was doing.
Little did I know, this would be the beginning of a new love affair with writing that has taken my hobby in a whole new direction.
“Get a blog!!†everyone seemed to be saying to me.
A blog? About what? Read the rest of this entry…

In a recent blog post, author, and editor, Tara Masih, gave homage to the importance of book reviewers.
Book reviewers provide an invaluable service to fiction writers in both the areas of helping us get the word about our work–promotion and marketing.
Their words of praise also grant us emotional support when the sale numbers do not always reflect the investment of time, heart, soul, and money in offering our personal best when crafting our novels, novellas, and short stories.
In her blog post Tara speaks of author and reviewer, Angela Lam Turpin. In addition to writing reviews, Angela is also the author to Legs and Blood Moon Rising. Read the rest of this entry…

Cheryl Snell–Why Do I Write and What Is My Process?
Cheryl Snell is a poet and literary fiction writer, author of seven poetry collections, a book of short stories, and two novels.
She has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize three times, had work chosen for inclusion in the Sundress Best of the Net Anthology, and, in collaboration with her sister Janet, won the Lopside Press chapbook competition for Prisoner’s Dilemma, a collection of art and poetry on game theory.
She can be reached at cherylsnell3@gmail.com
Cheryl keeps two blogs, one devoted to poetry and her sister’s art at http://ping.fm/YNzro; the other an author’s blog for her debut novel at http://ping.fm/u2NIE
The novel, Shiva’s Arms (The Writer’s Lair Books) explores the relationship between an American woman and her Hindu Brahmin in-laws.
“When I first met my new family, this passage from Wonderland’s Alice popped into my head– “What if I should fall right through the center of the earth…oh, and come out the other side, where people walk upside down?â€
I knew the basics—don’t touch the men, no shoes in the house, have a fry pan uncontaminated by meat handy. But there were an overwhelming number of ambiguities to sift through, from the comic head-shaking that looked like No but meant Yes, to the serious conflict between freedom and family.
